Those immortal words "emotional Content" but what does that mean to you and how do you incorporate that within your martial system?

A high emotional state (eg anger or even fear) will stimulate the fight or flight response, releasing adrenalin. This in turn (and when controlled) increases energy, speed and power.
By practicing at different levels of emotional state one can learn to tap into this energy at will.
Try performing Kata in a low energy passive state and a high level vigorous state of mind.

that's cool Paul. Nice to see it written down.
I do t'ai chi in "old man style" sometimes, making smaller movements, less extension, and certainly no martial intention.
at other times i move rapidly through the form "putting it in" like a kung fu maniac, with an imaginary opponent.
      I guess that's similar?
