  • Dynamic kicks

    Basic exercises to develop kicks and leg strength.

    1. Horse stance. Stay in stance for an extended period of time increasing it each time you practice. Your objective is to increase the time until you can reach 20mins.
    2. Kick into a bag using all basic kicks. The good thing here is can focus on techniques and building power . performing techniques with full power will develop the strength and speed but also controlling the kick will work your aim.
    3. Ankle weights will develop and condition your muscles but will also build speed and reactions.
    4. Squat kicks using your own weight to develop your leg muscles and power of your kicks.
    5. Kicking combination is one of the best ways to improve your control balance speed and power. Balance is one of the most important factor in execution of a good effective kick.

    Thank you for this. Also thinking about using your knee position to aim the kicks which you told me about has really helped me to start learning the basics
