    Shingitai Jujitsu

It has three main aspects to training, which are encapsulated in the name. Shin represents the mental approach and characteristic of fighting spirit, Gi refers to the technical aspects

Saylor compares Shingitai to the decathlon event, in as much as, in order to be a successful decathlete one must train in a wide variety of skills, never neglecting one aspect of training for another, overall balance in striking, grappling, throwing and ground work are the key fundamentals to achieving technical success.
Although at the time, meeting with much controversy by turning his back on his position at the elite Judo Academy, Saylor himself felt that in establishing his new form of Shingitai Jujitsu he was using his knowledge and experience to further the evolution of martial arts. In regards to this we must bear in mind that competitive based sport, martial arts and most traditional martial arts, although they do include an element of physical fitness training, the artists themselves can by no way compare in terms of physical fitness and athleticism to the professional athletes that Saylor was used to training with at the Olympic centre.
