    Jeet Kune Do

Jeet Kune Do is also commonly known as Jun San Jeet Kune Do. The art developed and promoted by Bruce Lee, is a hybrid style whose movements are direct, non classical and straightforward and known influences include boxing, fencing, Wing Chun and Judo.

Furthermore, Jeet Kune Do does not stress the training of set patterns or forms, sometimes known as Kata, instead a heavy reliance on applied technique and sparring dominates the training regime. Bruce compared traditional martial arts, many of which do not encourage sparring as a training method, to dry land swimming. We now know that full contact fighting or sparring is the best way for a student to gain close-to-life combat experience.

The HIA (Hand Immobilisation Attack) and the foot immobilisation attack are ways of trapping an arm or a leg in order to gain the upper hand and create an opening for an attack.
